Miracle Noodle (Shirataki) Lo Mein

I LOVE Shirataki Noodles!  They are filling and have no calories!  The possibilities with these are endless!!

1 tsp peanut oil
16 oz Tofu Shirataki Noodles, spaghetti shape
2.5 C shredded cabbage
1 carrot, grated
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tsp ginger, grated
1 tsp chili sauce
1 T soy sauce

I also like to add either cooked chicken or shrimp….or both 🙂

Rinse shirataki noodles in water and drain well. In a microwave safe bowl, microwave drained rinsed noodles for one minute. Rinse again and lay out on paper towels to further drain liquid. Set aside.

Heat  non stick skillet over high heat. Add peanut oil, cabbage, carrot, garlic, ginger and chilli sauce. Cook, stirring frequently, until cabbage looks wilted. Add noodles and stir to combine. Cook for 2-3 more minutes, until noodles are heated thru. Remove from heat and stir in soy sauce and additional salt if needed.

    Do you use real shirataki noodles or the house foods brand – the real ones are sort of slimy?? Any tips??

      I order the real ones on line (usually ebay has some good deals). You really have to rinse them well…usually several times…and drain them. Also microwaving them for about a minute helps too. Hope that helps!
